Small Group Studies
Tucker First UMC is committed to personal growth through diverse study opportunities. We offer many educational and small group opportunities that can be tailored to your tastes, spiritual needs, and schedule. No matter where you are in your faith, you will find something to challenge and inspire you at Tucker First UMC.

Sunday Morning Classes (9:45 a.m.)
Christian Friendship - Room 206 The Christian Friendship Class meets on Sunday mornings beginning about 9:15 a.m. (early birds). Our age group is guesstimated at between early 70's to 80's with a few "young'uns" of late 60's thrown in just to keep up alert! We have rotating teachers and alternate between studying from the Adult Bible Series to studying a special book selected by a class member. Each month we try to meet for dinner and fellowship. Third Thursday 6:00 pm at a local restaurant. C.O.M.E.T. (Count on Me Every Time) - Room 204 Singles and couples 40+. Lecture with discussion on in-depth Bible study, joyous singing, and group prayer are the focus of this class. Discovery Class Room 201 All ages Discussion about topical subjects from the Bible and how these topics relate to life. A facilitator does the prep work for the discussion and class members have the option to follow along or if busy with children and life, they can attend and still participate in a lively discussion. The class members are varied and cast many perspectives on the topic of the day. ESOL Sunday School Rooms 213 Adult Sunday School Classes for individuals for whom English is not their first language. Come learn about Jesus through Bible study while practicing English with a nurturing, caring group of people. Cornerstone Sunday School Class-Rom 203 We will explore what it means to Love Thy Neighbor and focus on growing our faith through friendships in Christ. This class is suggested for people ages 30s-50s, married or single, parents or non-parents. Open Door - Room 209 Couples and Singles A small group around a conference table has discussion focused on scripture and its application to life issues in an orthodox-Wesleyan context. We typically follow the Adult Bible Series but may vary on some occasions. There is room at the table for you! Searchers - Room 205 Couple & Singles 40 ++ Taught by Ken Futch, this class enjoys Bible study using the Adult Bible Series with an emphasis on discussion. The Unity Class – Room 112 This older adult group discussion covers topical subjects and book studies relevant to modern Christian thinking. Women's Spirit - Room 217 Women of all ages, single, married, divorced, widowed A discussion-oriented class emphasizing Bible study and spiritual growth. We look forward to having you join our sharing, caring group as we grow in our spiritual journey of faith together. |

Ladies' Bible Study-Daytime Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. in Room. 203. September-May. Ladies' Bible Study-Evening Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in Room. 202 (and via Zoom). Questions? Contact Becky Burnett at [email protected] Men's Fellowship Our Men’s Fellowship meets on a weekly basis for discussion and Bible study on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm in room 209. They also assist in service projects for the church and work with youth and children on many outreach activities in the community. Contact Andrew Carlton at [email protected] for more information. Come when you can as often as you can. All are welcome! Pioneers Tucker First UMC's group for senior adults interested in friendship, fun, and faith. Christian Women's Fellowship You are cordially invited to be a part of the Christian Women's Fellowship at Tucker First UMC. We are a fellowship of Christian women who care about each other. We are striving to grow spiritually and mentally and to fulfill our purpose. As part of the Tucker First UMC community, you are part of this fellowship, and we hope you will choose to come and play an active part. We have a good time together and support one another through caring and sharing.

PURPOSE The CWF is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Our Circle meets monthly September-June.
The Wesleyan Ambassadors, our Circle, meets on the second Monday at 10:30 am in Jenkins Hall. For more information contact Karen Skoog at [email protected]
CWF INVOLVEMENT IN MISSIONS Through bake sales and other fund raiser, the ladies of the Tucker First CWF raise money to support the following missions on a local, regional, and global scale.
Additionally, the CWF does many service projects throughout the year including providing book bags for local DFACS in DeKalb and Gwinnett counties, making cancer pillows for women at DeKalb Medical Center and assembling birthing kits for UMCOR.
