Traditional Worship
Our worship services in the main sanctuary follow the traditional United Methodist format, and the message is current and timely.
The music of this energetic service combines traditional hymns from the United Methodist Hymnal with music from our various music groups.

Modern Worship
At Tucker First United Methodist Church, our modern worship service is known as The Table. This name emphasizes the desire for everyone to understand and take their place at God’s table, where Jesus invites all to receive His grace and mercy.
The Table meets in our chapel and creates a relaxed worship environment usually led with guitar, keyboard, and drums. There is no bulletin or liturgy for this service, and there are tables and chairs instead of pews. Dress is casual for this service, and coffee is served before service. You can expect a Scripture and sermon portion of this service to last between 15-20 minutes. In addition, The Table serves Communion every Sunday, an especially meaningful time for our congregation to share in God’s grace available to all ages.

Like Tucker First UMC? Join the Family!
If you have already been baptized in a Christian church, we honor that baptism and celebrate with you. You would then be asked the question above regarding making Tucker First UMC your faith community.
What does it mean to join Tucker First UMC? In short, membership is about making a commitment to serve Jesus Christ through our local body of believers.
On the website of the United Methodist Church, you can read more about membership in our churches.

Here is one portion from the article, “Our understanding of what it means to be a member is deeply rooted in our Methodist heritage. John Wesley was clear that Christianity is a social religion, and that our growth in holiness of heart and life is deeply dependent on being in face-to-face community with others who are watching over us (and we over them) in love. It is in the context of these face-to-face relationships that we experience what it means to be the body of Christ in the world.”
We believe that being a part of a church family is important to the growth of a Christian. When you decide that you want to join our church, we’ll ask you two questions:
Our favorite way to have you join our church is to have you come to the front of any of our services during the last song and let the pastor know you want to join the church. You then get to publicly respond to the question and we recognize you as our newest member(s)! (If standing in front of everyone is intimidating to you, give us a call and we will discuss some other options). Contact our Senior Pastor, Rev. Gerald Varner or our Associate Pastor, Rev. Anne Cumings for more information.

- As a member of Christ's universal Church, will you be loyal to Christ through The United Methodist Church, and do all in your power to strengthen its ministries?
- As members of this congregation, will you faithfully participate in its ministries by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service and your witness?
