The Youth at Tucker First UMC serve in many different ways!

  • At Tucker First UMC… through worship, music and ministry
  • In the community… through T.I.M.E., Trinity House and Action Ministry
  • And beyond… through service projects and mission trips

VBS
Each year the Youth at Tucker First UMC provide leadership and support for the Children's Ministries Vacation Bible School.  It is a week long experience with lots of laughter, fun and experiencing God!

Youth Week
During the end of the Summer Break the youth gather for a week long experience of mission outreach and fun outings.  Cost of the outings is kept to a minimum to ensure all are able to attend.

Our youth at Tucker First had a great week last week during Youth Week 2020. They had fun and fellowship together as well as doing mission work for our community.

Volunteering at NETWorks
Our youth put in many hours helping at NETWorks. They packed and handed out the bags to those in need. Additionally, general office needs, like breaking down boxes and moving pallets were accomplished that week.

Assembling Health Kits
Forty-two health kits were created by the youth and thirty of them were given to the DeKalb Police Department. Many of the police know the homeless in our area by name and will be handing the health kits to them. The remaining kits went down to the Trinity Soup Kitchen in downtown Atlanta to be handed out with their “to-go” bags. The kits contained a washcloth, soap, toothbrush, and other toiletries.

Officers Receive Health Kits
These two officers work tirelessly to help the homeless in Tucker. Officer Crego and Lt Sowell picked up health kits made by our youth. They work to get help and resources to our neighbors who are down.

Preparing Communion Bags
On Sunday, August 2, bags of supplies to make communion bread were handed out to the evening worshipers. Our youth helped measure out the ingredients for these bags during youth week.
